Błaszczak said in a Twitter post on Thursday that preparations for the event had already begun.

In addition to the parade, picnics and other attractions are planned throughout the country on August 15, he said.

More than 60 airplanes and helicopters, 185 military vehicles and over 2,500 troops took part in a military parade when Poland marked Armed Forces Day with a bang in 2019, state news agency PAP reported.

The August 15 holiday marks Poland’s landmark victory against the Russian Bolsheviks in the 1920 Battle of Warsaw, in which Polish troops led by Marshal Józef Piłsudski defeated an advancing Red Army.

The 1920 Battle of Warsaw has been listed among the most important battles that have decided the fate of the world.
