Agata Kornhauser-Duda handed out the 2023 Young Promoter of Poland awards at a ceremony at the presidential palace on Monday, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
In a speech to the gathering, the first lady said that the achievements of young Poles were helping build the country’s "renown and position on the international stage.”
‘Best ambassadors for Poland’
She added: “This is the idea behind the Young Promoter of Poland competition. It’s hard to find better ambassadors for our country than these young, talented, capable and ambitious people, full of energy, determination, but also creativity--people who are looking boldly into the future.”
The first lady also said: “We are enormously proud of the fact that the positive image of our country is being shaped by people who, despite their young age, have already achieved spectacular success, and are accomplishing wonderful, extraordinary and beautiful things.”
Kornhauser-Duda told the award winners: “May your achievements and accomplishments always be a source of personal pride and satisfaction, inspire your peers and give the world reasons to respect and admire Poland and the Polish people.”
The first lady congratulated everyone who received a nomination for the 2023 Young Promoter of Poland award, according to officials.
“May all your plans and dreams come true,” she said. “I have no doubt that you will make magnificent ambassadors for our country around the world.”
Kornhauser-Duda handed out the 2023 Young Promoter of Poland awards in the categories of science, culture and sport, the PAP news agency reported.

2023 Young Promoter of Poland prize winners
The statuette in the science category went to 29-year-old scholar Piotr Kuwałek, for his work in the field of biological, acoustic and electrical signal processing, as well as in the area of localisation of the sources of voltage changes in electricity networks, according to officials.

Meanwhile, 26-year-old violinist Zuzanna Budzyńska received the 2023 Young Promoter of Poland award for helping promote Polish culture, notably through her recent record Polonaises, a collaboration with pianist Szymon Ogryzek showcasing “Poland’s seven most beautiful polonaise pieces arranged for violin and piano,” the presidential office said.
The statuette in the sports category went to 26-year-old racewalker Katarzyna Zdziebło, who has won two world championship silver medals and a European silver for Poland, according to officials.

The Special Prize went to 18-year-old Aleksander Zarębiński, for his participation in prestigious international research programmes in fields such as neurobiology, cognitive science and artificial intelligence, the PAP news agency reported.
