Addressing pupils at the St. John Paul II Public Primary School, Nawrocki said young people were “the most important today.”
Quoting the school’s patron, he added: “Finishing school, will be enlightened citizens of the Republic of Poland.”
Calling that both an honor and a duty, he urged students to believe in themselves, "study, and be proud Poles.”
Marta Nawrocka wished students a year of developing passions, talents and discovery.
She wished teachers “patience and lasting professional satisfaction,” and parents “joy and pride each day as our children gain new skills.”
Poland’s new school year began on Monday. The winter break will run from January 19 to March 1, depending on the province, while the Christmas and Easter holidays will last from December 22 to 31 and April 2 to 7 respectively.
The academic year will end on June 26, 2026, with national exams held in May.
