Aleksandra Kobza received the honour during a ceremony hosted by Queen Silvia at the Royal Palace in Stockholm on Thursday.
The award includes a EUR 6,000 scholarship and an internship opportunity.
Kobza’s app, BestCare, helps nurses quickly access key information about patients—from allergies and mobility to personal interests—aimed at ensuring individualised, person-centred care.
The tool aims to improve communication, reduce paperwork and strengthen patients’ sense of security.
Kobza, who has 15 years of nursing experience in Poland and Britain, said she plans to use the scholarship to fund postgraduate studies in practical psychology.
She currently works in Radom, about 100 km south of Warsaw.
This year’s award also went to nurses from Sweden, Germany, Lithuania and Finland. The ceremony was followed by panel discussions on healthcare technology, artificial intelligence and existential health.
