Poland warns citizens against travel to Venezuela

Poland's foreign ministry issued a warning against all travel to Venezuela in the nortnern part of South America, citing the country's deteriorating security situation.

Polish mobile phone users currently in Venezuela received an emergency alert urging them to register in the government's "Odyseusz" traveller system.

The message was sent via the national alert service to SIM cards active in the country.

Foreign ministry spokesman Maciej Wewiór wrote on X that Poland "strongly advises against any travel to Venezuela," posting the warning on Monday afternoon, 1 December Polish time.

Officials say the recommendation will remain in place until security conditions improve.
