The poll, conducted from 21 to 23 December 2025 among 1,000 respondents using CATI and CAWI methods, indicates that 59% support the measure, with 15% strongly in favour and 44% moderately supportive.

Support varies across political lines

Support is particularly strong among voters of the right-wing, populist Law and Justice (PiS) and the far-right Confederation, where 67% back the return of conscription.

Among supporters of the ruling centrist, liberal, pro-European coalition, backing is lower at 50%, suggesting a more cautious approach within this group.

Overall, about 31% of respondents oppose the measure, including both moderate and strong opponents, while roughly 10% remain undecided.

The survey also shows that even among previously undecided voters, 60% now lean towards supporting compulsory service.

Within this group, 20% are strongly in favour, 40% moderately supportive, 23% oppose it, and 17% have no clear opinion.

Many respondents cite regional security concerns and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine as key reasons for their stance.

Analysts suggest the findings reflect a pragmatic approach to national defence rather than purely ideological motivations.
