The competition brought together 95 of the most talented young programmers from dozens of countries. Scores at the top were extremely close, with final rankings decided by fractions of a point. Kot scored 91.7 points, securing his position in the gold medal group and ranking fifth overall. His performance highlighted the high standard of Polish students in machine learning and algorithmics.

Other members of the Polish team also achieved notable results: Krzysztof Rojek, Antoni Kamiński, and Michał Karp each earned bronze medals, giving Poland a strong overall showing at the event.

For Kot, the Slovenian triumph follows a historic win at the first International AI Olympiad (IOAI) in Beijing in August 2025, where the Polish team won first place in the team competition, defeating teams from China and the United States. The latest result reinforces his status as one of the world’s leading young AI specialists.

February 27 was also significant domestically: on the same day, Kot received official confirmation of qualification for the final of the national XXXIII Informatics Olympiad, marking an unprecedented achievement in both modern AI and classical algorithmics.

The Polish Ministry of Education supports and provides honorary patronage for initiatives linked to the AI Olympiad in Poland.
