The average life expectancy for men rose by 0.4 years to 75.4 in 2025, while for women it increased by 0.2 years to 82.5.
Compared with 1990, the average lifespan has risen by 9.1 years for men and 7.2 years for women, according to the state-run statistics agency.
In 1960, the average Polish man was expected to live to about 65, while the average life expectancy for women was around 71 years.
As in most European countries, mortality among Polish men remains higher than among women across most age groups.
However, data show that the life expectancy gap between the sexes has narrowed in recent years.
