Home completions 0.4% down y/y in Poland in first nine months of 2025

Builders in Poland completed 0.4 percent fewer homes in the first nine months of this year than in the same period in 2024, the country’s statistics office reported on Tuesday.

Around 144,400 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of September, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.

In January-September 2025, 0.4% fewer dwellings were completed than in the previous year.
There was also a decrease in the number of dwellings for which permits were issued or notifications with a construction project were made.

It added that the number of dwellings under construction, at around 856,300 as of the end of last month, was 2.2 percent higher than the year before.

Meanwhile, overall output in Poland’s construction-and-assembly sector edged up by 0.2 percent in September in year-on-year terms, while increasing by 20.6 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency also reported.

According to preliminary data construction and assembly production was in September 2025 higher by 0.2% YoY. After eliminating the seasonal factors the lower amounted to 2.2%.

Builders completed around 200,400 new homes in Poland last year, a decrease of 9.4 percent from 2023, according to Statistics Poland.

At the end of 2024, Poland had about 16 million dwellings, up 1.2 percent from a year earlier, the national statistics office reported last month.
