A survey by pollster CBOS found that 61 percent of respondents frequently or very frequently felt proud of their accomplishments in 2025 – the highest proportion recorded since polling began in 1990.

The research, which tracked 11 emotional states, showed continued improvement in Polish mental wellbeing for the third consecutive year following strain during the pandemic period.

Some 64 percent of Poles frequently felt satisfied with their successes, while 58 percent experienced confidence that things were going well for them.

Negative emotions reported less frequently

Negative emotions were less common.

Two in five respondents (40 percent) reported frequent feelings of nervousness or irritation, while 37 percent felt disregarded by authorities.

About 23 percent said they often or very often felt unhappy, and 22 percent reported feelings of helplessness.

Just 13 percent frequently experienced anger – the lowest figure since 1990.

Wellbeing index and social differences

CBOS's overall wellbeing index, measuring positive and negative emotions on a scale of 1 to 4, stood at 2.81 in December 2025, up from 2.76 the previous year.

The highest score recorded was 2.84 in 2019.

The research revealed varying wellbeing levels between social groups.

Higher scores were recorded among business owners, managers, specialists, as well as pupils and students, while lower levels were seen among pensioners and the unemployed.

Political affiliation showed little correlation with feelings of being disregarded by government, though right-leaning respondents reported this slightly more frequently (44 percent) than left-leaning ones (40 percent).

The survey was carried out from 27 November to 8 December 2025 on a representative random sample of 948 Polish adults.
