Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski both joined this year’s fundraiser by offering personal items and experiences for auction.
Tusk, known for his passion for football, donated a pair of “golden football boots,” while Sikorski, an avid cyclist, offered to take part in a bike ride combined with a discussion on international politics.
Among other auction items is a meal with Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek, featuring the traditional Polish soup żurek—a playful reference to the minister’s surname.
This year's WOŚP fundraising, which culminates on Sunday, January 25, is held under the slogan “Healthy Tummies for Our Children” and aims to raise funds for the diagnosis and treatment of digestive system diseases in children.
The initiative has drawn widespread support from public figures and celebrities across the country.
Playful gestures for a serious cause at the WOŚP finale
“Whoever wins these boots will sit with me in this very room, in this chair, where Obama, Prince Charles (now King Charles III), former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, and President Macron once sat, though not Katy Perry yet. We’ll have coffee, there will be cookies, and we’ll talk,” Tusk joked in a video posted on X, adding that the auction winner will also have the opportunity for a personal meeting with the Prime Minister at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister’s Office.
The boots donated by the Polish Prime Minister are currently being auctioned for over 105,000 złoty (approximately €24,950).
