Tennis: Hurkacz into Canadian Open final

The 25-year-old Pole, who is ranked world No. 10 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and is the eighth seed in Montreal, will now face Pablo Carreno-Busta for a chance to win his sixth ATP trophy.

Hurkacz on Friday booked his place in the semifinals of the men’s doubles competition in Montrealpartnering with countryman Jan Zieliński.

The Polish duo will play Britain's Daniel Evans and Australia's John Peers for a spot in the final.

Hurkacz in June won his fifth ATP singles title by beating world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev in the final of the Halle Open grass-court tournament in Germany.

The hard-court tournament in Montreal runs until Sunday.
