The annual event, one of the most important badminton tournaments in Poland, has attracted competitors from around 30 countries, including Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia and the Philippines, according to officials.

A host of top domestic players are also taking part in the competition, among them the mixed doubles team of Paweł Śmiłowski and Magdalena Świerczyńska, the organizers said.
Leading international competitors include India's Harshit Aggarwal in the men's singles and France's Léonice Huet in the women's singles.
Meanwhile, the top-seeded men's doubles team is the Czech duo of Ondřej Král and Adam Mendrek, while Annie Lado and Abbygael Harris of Britain are the top seeds in the women's doubles.
The tournament, supported by Polish energy giant Orlen, runs until Sunday.
