The annual event is organised in Warsaw by the Polish Paralympic Committee.
The Orlen Paralympic Run is designed for everyone, regardless of their ability or disability, according to officials.
Participants will be able to compete over a 1-kilometre distance and a 5-kilometre distance, which they can cover by running, walking or using their wheelchairs, the Polish Paralympic Committee said.
The 500 places available in the 2023 Orlen Paralympic Run were taken up in two days, a record and “proof of growing interest in our event,” the organisation added.
The Polish Paralympic Committee said that “sport should be an integral part of life for every person.”
This message will be propagated by the Ambassadors of the 2023 Orlen Paralympic Run, including runner Aleksander Kossakowski, a bronze medal winner at the 2023 Para Athletic World Championships, and swimmer Joanna Mendak, a three-time Paralympic champion, organisers said.
The 2023 Orlen Paralympic Run is sponsored by the state-run energy giant Orlen Group.
Public broadcaster Polish Radio is a media partner of the event.
The 2023 Orlen Paralympic Run will take place on Sunday, October 8, in Warsaw’s Kępa Potocka park, the Polish Paralympic Committee said.
