Poles win medals at Wheelchair Fencing World Championships

Polish competitors have won a bagful of medals at the Wheelchair Fencing World Championships, which ended in Terni, Italy, on Sunday.

Poland’s Kinga Dróżdż took the gold in the women's sabre category A event, defeating China's Xufeng Zou in the final, according to the Polish Paralympic Committee.

Meanwhile, a Polish team of Dróżdż, Marta Fidrych, Karolina Strawińska and Jadwiga Pacek won the bronze in the women's sabre competition.

Poland's Adrian Castro grabbed the silver in the men’s sabre category B event.

More medals from Poland came from Marta Fidrych in the women's epee category A and Michał Dąbrowski in the men's epee category B event.

Nearly 200 athletes from 30 countries, including 17 Poles, competed in the 2023 Wheelchair Fencing World Championships, which were held in Terni from October 3 to 8.
