In Wisła - Poland's Piotr Żyła was 14th, Aleksander Zniszczoł 20th, Paweł Wąsek 21st and Dawid Kubacki 25th, while Kamil Stoch and Klemens Murańka were eliminated in the first series and didn't make it to the final 30.

Meanwhile - at the end of the 2022/23 season Kubacki finished 4th (now: 26th, after 14 out of 38 competitions), Żyła claimed the 6th position (now: 23rd and best of Poles so far) and Stoch was 14th (now: 27th).

The winner of Wisła's tournament, Kobayashi jumped 131 m and 139.5 m (269.4 points). Kraft, placed second, achieved 132 m and 129.5 m (264.3 points), while the bronze medalist Wellinger landed at 131 m and 128.5 m (262.4 points). Poland's Żyła scored 124 m and 127 m (236.2 points), Zniszczoł 115 m and 123 m (227.9 points), Wąsek 117 m and 126.5 m (227.4 points) and Kubacki 118 m and 116 m (223.4 points).

For Kobayashi, who recently claimed the 72nd Four Hills Tournament championship, the triumph in Wisła was the first win of the season. In Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen he finished second.

Kraft, on the other hand, climbed the podium of individual Ski Jumping World Cup competitions for the 108th time in his career, equaling the all-time record set by Finland's Janne Ahonen. The Austrian remains the World Cup leader with 989 points. Wellinger (757) is second and Kobayashi (691) is third. The best Pole, Piotr Żyła, has 115 points and is 23rd.

Qualifiers and competitions in Wisła are included in the PolSKI Tournament - where the whole national teams fight for the final prizes. Slovenians are leading in the cycle (1558.4 points), in front of the Austrians (51.2 points behind) and the Germans (74.4 points behind). Japan and Norway follow - and the Poles are sixth, trailing 212.8 points behind the leaders.

The ski jumpers will now move to Szczyrk, to continue the PolSKI Tournament at the Skalite ski jumping hill, with the qualifiers on Tuesday and the individual competition on Wednesday. The PolSKI tournament will end with competitions played at Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane over the upcoming weekend (January 19-21).
