The 36-year-old from Radom, central Poland, stopped the Haitian-Canadian veteran in the fourth round after the referee halted the bout at the request of Pascal’s corner.

Cieślak entered the match as a clear favourite, holding a 27-2 record with 21 knockouts.

Pascal, nearly seven years older, is a former light heavyweight world champion with a 37-7-1 record and 21 knockouts.

From the opening bell, Cieślak dominated, delivering powerful blows that shook Pascal in the third round, forcing a count from the referee. Although Pascal survived until the end of the round, the pressure continued.

In the fourth round, following another intense flurry from the Polish contender, the fight was stopped, awarding Cieślak the interim title - the biggest achievement of his career to date.

He had previously fallen short twice in world title bouts but had already earned the European championship belt.

At a press conference, the athlete said that this achievement is the fulfillment of his dreams, and once he returns to Poland, he plans to celebrate his professional success alongside a personal milestone - his wedding, which will take place on Saturday.
