Tennis–Wimbledon: Poland’s Zieliński and Czech partner Pavlásek reach last 16 in men’s doubles

Poland’s Jan Zieliński and Czech partner Adam Pavlásek advanced to the last 16 of the Wimbledon men’s doubles with a 7-6(9) 7-6(5) win over seventh seeds Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori of Italy on Saturday.

The unseeded pair held their nerve in two tight tie-breaks to eliminate the experienced Italian duo in just under two hours.

Zieliński and Pavlásek will face 10th seeds Hugo Nys of Monaco and Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France in the next round.

Zieliński previously partnered with Nys, with whom he won four ATP titles and reached the final of the 2023 Australian Open.
