The match lasted just 61 minutes, marking the eighth meeting between the two players, with Świątek now holding six wins.

The WTA Finals feature the top eight female players competing in two groups in a round-robin format, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals. The final is scheduled for 8 November.

Świątek and Keys are part of the “Serena Williams Group,” alongside fellow American Amanda Anisimova and Kazakhstan’s Jelena Rybakina, who are scheduled to play each other later on Saturday.

The “Steffi Graf Group” will compete on Sunday, featuring world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus against Italian player Jasmine Paolini, who has Polish roots.

The other match in that group pits defending champion Coco Gauff against fellow American Jessica Pegula.
