Speaking on her X profile, Świątek described the announcement as a key milestone for the foundation and expressed her enthusiasm for mentoring the recipients as they embark on their sporting careers.
The inaugural cohort includes hurdler Ignacy Andrzejczak, swimmer Wiktor Chmurski, speed skater Liwia Kubin, golfer Jan Pyla, and tennis player Oliwia Sybicka.
From January 2026, each will receive a year of funding and tailored mentorship to support their development.
The programme is designed not only to recognise talent but also to provide holistic guidance, encompassing coaching, sports psychology, health advice, and career planning.
At a special event, The Road to Dreams: Iga Świątek Foundation Scholars Meeting, Świątek highlighted the importance of connecting young athletes with a network of experts and partners to support their early career growth.
Open to 15–22-year-olds competing nationally and internationally in Olympic disciplines, the 12-month pilot combines financial aid with mentorship, aiming to foster both sporting excellence and personal development.
