On March 28th, the inaugural season of Poland's women's amputee football league officially kicked off with a ceremony held at the Arthouse Kołowa event hall in Warsaw's Targówek district.
When the official part concluded, FFK Furia Warszawa and Warta Poznań faced off on the nearby pitch, marking the first-ever women's amputee football club match not only in Poland but also in all of Europe.
The game, widely seen as a significant moment for the entire world of women's parasports, ended in a 0-0 draw.
More important than the result, however, is the fact that once again Poland put itself on the forefront in the domain - breaking glass ceilings, setting the tone of amputee football development in Europe, and being a place of important sporting, social and symbolic change.
