Richards was granted the main award of the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography for his filming in Chloé Zhao’s “Nomadland”, which the organizers described as „a story of a modern-day nomad, exploring a life outside of conventional society.”

The Silver Frog went to Rauno Ronkainen for his filming of Antti J. Jokinen’s „Helene”, and the Bronze Frog was handed out to Pinnocchio by Matteo Garrone, filmed by Nicolaj Brüel.

The festival’s jury also decided to honor Johnny Depp with a special acting award, saying "he is an artist of many faces and talents as well as an actor who is very sensitive to the visual language of film.”

„[He is] a person we feel we have a responsibility to award for their input into the world of film,” the jury also added.
