Limon was the founder and director of the theatre, which is a replica of an Elizabethan-era playhouse.

Two round-table discussions on Saturday are to focus on Jerzy Limon as a man of the theatre and scholar. Panellists include academics, theatre directors and Limon’s colleagues from Poland, Britain, the United States, Germany, France and Hungary.

All the events will be transmitted on the You Tube and Facebook profiles of the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre.

Friday was the 457th anniversary of the birth of Shakespeare.
