Of Animals and Men: film about Polish zoo which saved Jews in WWII

“Of Animals and Men” is the title of a Polish documentary about the true story of how Jan and Antonina Żabiński, the keepers of the Warsaw Zoo, saved some 300 Jews during World War II.

The film is to be shown on June 22 in more than 700 cinemas across the United States.

In an interview for Radio Poland, the Żabińskis’ grandson Dominik says he’s excited about the event, adding: “This is the first time the world will hear the story from this angle, with the use of archival footage.”
