Throughout the day the historic castle hosts concerts, exhibition and shows, but guests are also able to fly a balloon.

The castle formerly served as the official home of Polish monarchs.

It is situated in Castle Square, at the Warsaw Old Town.

It was completely destroyed during World War II, first bombed by Nazi-German fighter aircraft in September 1939, and then detonated after the failed Warsaw Uprising in 1944.

The castle was restored to its 17th century appearance, after a reconstruction which started in 1971.

In 1980, the castle and surrounding Old Town became a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and serves as a museum.
