Lem, who was one of Poland's most eminent writers, has been honoured by the country's parliament, which has proclaimed 2021 as the Year of Lem.

The author of the bestseller Solaris, Lem was the most frequently translated Polish author. He was born a century ago, on September 12, 1921.

Festivities related to the Year of Lem have been diverse and culminate with the Megabit Bomb event this weekend in Kraków.

The head of the Warsaw-based Stanisław Lem Institute, Maciej Kawecki, previews some of the event’s highlights in an interview with Polish Radio's Klaudiusz Madeja.
