EO is among the five final nominees in the Best International Feature Film category, as announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Tuesday.

The Polish movie is in the running for an Academy Award against Argentina's Argentina, 1985Belgium's Close, Germany's All Quiet on the Western Front, and Ireland's The Quiet Girl.

EO has won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Festival, Best Original Score at the European Film Awards, Best International Film from the New York Film Critics Circle, and awards from the Los Angeles Film Critics’ Association for Best Film Not in the English Language and for Best Cinematography.

Skolimowski is one of Poland’s most internationally renowned film directors. His credits include Identification Marks, Barrier, Walkover, Hands Up, Deep End, Four Nights with Anna, and Essential Killing.

The 95th Academy Awards ceremony is set to take place in Hollywood on March 12.
