The project includes a presentation of several interviews recorded by Romankiv in the Polish cities of Kraków and Poznań, as well as interviews conducted at the Rynek 30 Gallery in Warsaw.
In them, Romankiv says she plans to ask migrants in various EU countries about their views on the future of Europe.
In videos recorded by the artist, migrants from Ukraine, Belarus, Kenya, Algeria and Argentina talk about civil rights and various inequalities they face in their daily life.
In their remarks, they come up with many ideas on how to simplify migration procedures and reform employees rights.
In an interview with Poland's PAP news agency, Romankiv said: ”The need to talk about the future was enhanced after Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022 ... Pondering the future we are fighting for seems to me to be extremely important.”
She cited European Commission data according to which 37.5 million EU citizens were born outside the bloc.
Romankiv’s project runs until July 30 at the Rynek 30 Gallery at the Museum of Warsaw in the Polish capital's Old Town Market Square.
