An interview with Hanna Radziejowska, the director of the Pilecki Institute in Berlin, about a difficult task of bringing the story of the Polish resistance leader to the German audience. She was honored earlier this month as an outstanding Polish woman for her achievements in the field of culture.

The Pilecki Institute is a Polish government institution tasked with preserving the memory, documenting and researching the historical experiences of Polish citizens and increasing awareness regarding totalitarianism in the 20th century. Its patron is Witold Pilecki, a Polish World War II cavalry officer, intelligence agent, and resistance leader.
