The annual event, at the Polish capital's Palace of Culture and Science venue, is expected to be attended by publishers from across the world, with Italy taking centre stage as the fair's guest country of honour.
Italian exhibitors and authors will be taking part under the motto Ci vuole un fiore (It Takes a Flower).
The motto comes from a poem by Italian poet Gianni Rodari, according to the Italian ambassador to Poland, Luca Franchetti Pardo.
"Italy will be at the center of this year edition, with a rich series of events: more than 20 meetings, including lectures, conversations and roundtable discussions, which will give the Polish public the opportunity to meet some of the most acclaimed Italian contemporary writers, along with some emerging voices," the ambassador said.
"It will be an extraordinary chance to learn about the richness and diversity of our literary culture and to promote it," he added, as cited by the organisers.
The 2024 Warsaw International Book Fair runs until Sunday.
