Hosted on Saturday by Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Centre, the annual event highlights cutting-edge scientific discoveries and experiments aimed at captivating visitors of all ages.

The slogan: “It’s Going to Be Cosmic!” sets the tone for this year's edition promising an event filled with space-themed wonders.

This Science Picnic features an impressive 690 interactive shows prepared by 152 institutions from Poland and abroad.

The event will spotlight astronautics and astronomy.

The cosmic theme is especially fitting: on May 29, Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski is set to depart for the International Space Station.

So, on Saturday in Warsaw, expect plenty of telescopes, satellites, rockets, capsules, rovers, robots, and all kinds of scientific marvels related to space exploration.

Visitors will also get the chance to explore over 16 space rovers — both professional and DIY models. Twelve stands will offer rocket-building activities, and nine will be dedicated to Earth-operating robots.

The idea behind such activities is not only to educate but also to inspire participants to explore their own creative potentials.

Initiated by Polish Radio 28 years ago, the Science Picnic has evolved into a landmark event, recognized by the European Commission for its contribution to science and society.

Held annually since 1997 in collaboration with the Warsaw-based Copernicus Science Centre, the picnic serves as a platform for fostering knowledge across various scientific disciplines.

From showcasing state-of-the-art robotics to hosting workshops on electronic music production, the event caters to a wide range of interests and ages, reinforcing its role as a crucial scientific gathering in Central Europe.

Admission to the Science Picnic is free, reflecting its mission to make science accessible to all.
