Now in its twelfth edition, the event combines debates, author talks, performances, concerts and workshops aimed at fostering an interdisciplinary forum around democratic values, free expression, economic rationality and dialogue, organisers from the Liberté Foundation said.

Clooney is expected to deliver a keynote speech. Over the years, he has repeatedly spoken out against the dangers of populism and advocated for human rights and freedom of speech.

City officials confirmed the festival will take place from October 24 to 26 at the EXPO hall in Łódź.

Other speakers will include Polish humanitarian and activist Jerzy Owsiak, novelist Szczepan Twardoch, American author Ottessa Moshfegh, Ukrainian poet Serhiy Zhadan, and Irish writer Megan Nolan, who is based in New York.
