Yet - expect everything but a "proper" historical series. Netflix describes "1670" as a satire on the vices of the Polish nobility, which on a closer look seem to have survived through the ages in pretty good shape. As a result, this comedy - oftentimes black and full of absurdities - will strongly allude to the present day.
The series is directed by critically acclaimed Maciej Buchwald and Kordian Kądziela - and the original idea and script were penned by Jakub Rużyłło, previously known for authoring the scripts of "The Office PL", "Kryptonim: Polska" and "Sexify 2" (and for a sterling rap freestyle battle career under the nickname Muflon). A host of leading Polish actors will appear on screen, with Bartosz Topa playing the leading role - while Jan Kwieciński, Ivo Krankowski and Akson Studio are responsible for the production.
"1670" will be the 11th Polish-language original series published by Netflix.
