Poland’s life satisfaction one of Europe’s highest

According to Eurostat data for 2022, which have just been released, the Polish people, alongside Finns and Romanians, rated 7.7 out of 10 in the average life satisfaction. The rating was highest in Austria (7.9), with Belgium and the Netherlands (both at 7.6) behind Poland, Finland and Romania.

Bulgaria (5.6), Germany (6.5) and Greece (6.7) were at the bottom of the table.
Average life satisfaction across the EU rated 7.1 on a scale from 0 (very dissatisfied) to 10 (very satisfied).

Life satisfaction may be influenced by many factors such as age, level of education, family and financial situation, as well as the diversity of experiences, choices, priorities and values of an individual.

Described by Eurostat on its website as “subjective”, the life satisfaction indicator is collected as a part of the EU’s statistics on income and living conditions.
