The competitors were chosen from more than 500 applicants, according to the organizers.
Alexewicz, 26, is one of the leading Polish pianists of his generation.
Earlier this year, he shared fifth prize with Vincent Ong of Malaysia at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
He was also a semi-finalist at the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas.
His earlier successes include top awards at the Texas Piano Concerto Competition and second prize at the Hilton Head Piano Competition in the United States.
The Rubinstein Competition opens on April 28.
The Gold Medal winner will receive USD 40,000 in prize money, along with invitations to perform at concerts in Israel and around the world.
The international jury, chaired by Israeli pianist and conductor Arie Vardi, will include such celebrated artists as Martha Argerich, Daniel Barenboim, Yefim Bronfman, Akiko Ebi, Pavel Gililov and Piotr Paleczny, among others.
Founded in 1974, the Rubinstein International Piano Masters Competition is held every three years.
It is dedicated to Arthur Rubinstein, the legendary Polish pianist of Jewish descent, who died in 1982 at the age of 92.
Past winners include Poland’s Szymon Nehring, who won the top prize in 2017.
