The payout is part of a European Union drive to encourage children to follow a healthy diet.
The European Commission, the EU’s executive, says that consumption of fruit, vegetables and milk in the bloc’s member countries is too low, while the consumption of unhealthy, processed foods is on the rise.
This, combined with a lack of physical activity, contributes to obesity, increasing the risk of young people developing a range of health problems.
Poland is one of the largest beneficiaries of the healthy eating programme after Germany, France and Italy, according to public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency.
