The figure was in line with an earlier estimate by the country’s labour ministry.
There were around 851,200 people without jobs at the end of September, down from 865,500 a month earlier, according to the Central Statistical Office.
Poland's Labour and Social Policy Minister Bożena Borys-Szopa told reporters earlier this month that the 5.1 percent jobless figure for September marked the lowest unemployment rate in the country in almost three decades.
According to the European Union's Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, unemployment in Poland was a modest 3.3 percent in August, one of the lowest rates in the 28-nation bloc.
