Meanwhile, over 34 percent have no such plans, according to the study by pollster United Surveys commissioned by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily and broadcaster RMF FM.

Public health authorities announced last week that third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine would be made available to all adults beginning November 2.

Deputy Health Minister Waldemar Kraska said on Tuesday that the booster shot would be administered at least six months after the second shot.

Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines will be used for booster jabs, Kraska told public broadcaster Polish Radio.

Earlier Poland's government recommended a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for healthcare workers and people over 50.

In late August, people with compromised immune systems were advised to receive a third dose of the vaccine.

By Tuesday, more than 800,000 booster shots had been administered, while over 235,000 people with immunity problems had received a third vaccine dose, according to data released by officials.

As of Tuesday, more than 39 million coronavirus vaccine shots had been administered nationwide, government data showed.
