Hungary's President János Áder will host the event, which opens with a welcoming ceremony at the Museum of Fine Arts in the Hungarian capital on Monday morning.

Poland's President Andrzej Duda and Slovakia's Zuzana Čaputová are expected to join him for talks on Monday and Tuesday about the future course of the regional Visegrad Group (V4) as well as "values and interests in a changing geopolitical landscape," public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Duda will brief the gathering on a migrant crisis at Poland's border with Belarus and security challenges in the region, according to Polish presidential aide Jakub Kumoch.

On Tuesday, the Polish head of state is scheduled to address an international conference in Budapest.

The four-nation Visegrad Group (V4) is a regional cooperation platform that brings together Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.

Czech President Miloš Zeman will miss the meeting in Budapest due to ill health, reporters were told.
