The International Cycling Union (UCI) on Tuesday unveiled a revised calendar of the elite season after racing was suspended earlier this year due to the coronovarius pandemic.

The world’s top cyclists are expected to return to action on August 1 with the Strade Bianche, a one-day race in Italy.

The Tour de Pologne, which was originally scheduled for July, will now take place before the Tour de France, which is due to be held from August 29 to September 20.

The UCI said the new dates "remain subject to the lifting ... of the restrictions relating to the organisation of events put in place by the authorities in the concerned territories."

It added that "the situation is a changing one, which could mean the UCI may need to adjust the calendar to take into account the development of the pandemic."

Meanwhile, Poland’s international Solidarity Race is slated to start on September 9, according to an announcement last month.
