Polish cities join Generators of Hope campaign for Ukraine

Poland's biggest cities have joined a European campaign to send spare power generators to Ukraine to help the country through the winter following Russian missile strikes on energy infrastructure.

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola launched the Generators of Hope drive earlier this week.

10 million Ukrainians are without electricity due to Russia's attacks.

“Now [the Ukrainians] need practical support to get through the winter," Metsola said in a video message.

She added: "I call on all cities, towns and regions across Europe to join the Generators of Hope campaign. Together we can make a difference."
