The World Meteorological Organization warns there is a "high probability" that 2024 will be another record-hot year.

Polish climate experts have joined the UN in its call for more climate action.

“We can anticipate more frequent occurrences of heatwaves, with consecutive days where temperatures in Poland remain above 25, or even 30, degrees Celsius,” said Zbigniew Karaczun of the Polish Climate Coalition, an association of climate protection NGOs.

“Additionally, these changes will adversely affect agriculture, leading to droughts, reduced crop yields and, consequently, compromised food security,” Karaczun told public broadcaster Polish Radio earlier this week.
