For years, the EU has pledged to simplify regulation. Yet the overall volume and complexity of legislation has continued to grow, increasing the burden on businesses and innovators.
This year, however, could mark a new chapter for the European economy, as previously adopted rules begin to take effect and are translated into practical tools aimed at supporting innovation and industry.
Key issues include the role of artificial intelligence in the labour market, the migration pact and the enforcement of the Digital Services Act.
