Russia achieves record revenues from fossil fuel exports during war against Ukraine

During the first 100 days of its war against Ukraine, Russia earned 93 billion euro from exports of fossil fuels.

Russia has achieved record earnings from exports of fossil fuels, according to the Finnish Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA).

The majority of those exports, 61%, went to the European Union.

Experts from CREA have analysed that despite sanctions against Russia, global price increases have made possible the record earnings.
