In a Polish-language Facebook post, the Ukrainian General Staff wrote: "The war has shown who our sisters and brothers are. For our freedom and for yours!"

It added: “The Armed Forces of Ukraine are grateful for Poland’s support and assistance.”

Ukraine’s military command thanked Poland “for consistent, multi-faceted support over many years and for effective assistance in reforming and raising the combat capability of the Ukrainian armed forces.”

The Ukrainian General Staff added that Ukraine’s army “is grateful to all the citizens of Poland for opening their hearts and homes to the millions of Ukrainian women and children who have found refuge in Poland.”

Ukraine’s military command went on to say: “The Ukrainian Armed Forces are grateful to Radio Poland’s Ukraine Section/Polish Radio for Ukraine for its unceasing work on the website ‘Ukraine defends itself against Russia:' for systematic, objective, comprehensive and substantive coverage of the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as regards the defence of the country, and of the development of Polish-Ukrainian relations, especially in the military sphere.”

In the post, several senior Ukrainian government officials, including Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov, thanked Poland for supplying Ukraine with military equipment, such as the self-propelled Krab (Crab) gun howitzers and the Piorun (Thunderbolt) man-portable air defence system.

Ukraine’s military command also quoted Radio Poland’s Ukraine Section’s report from May, putting Poland second only behind the United States in terms of the volume of military equipment sent to Ukraine.

“A heartfelt thank you!” the Ukrainian General Staff said.

Monday was day 138 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
