The British Royal Air Force is sending its laser-guided Brimstone 2 missiles to Ukraine at a cost of approximately £175,000 per missile. Brimstone missiles are a ground attack missile which can be launched from the air or from the ground.

Brimstone missiles, developed by MBDA UK for the Royal Air Force, use advanced tracking technology to focus on priority military targets and minimise collateral damage, reducing the risk to civilians.

Missiles follow targets by tracking a laser or can select their own targets from a pre-programmed list and use radar.

Brimstone 2, launched in 2016, has a range of nearly 60 km when launched from a jet. Until now, older version missiles had been sent to Ukraine.
