Lubinets tweeted: "Humanitarian problems and cases for providing human rights assistance to citizens were discussed. We continue to work further."

Russia's Moskalkova said, as quoted by Reuters: "It is very important that the ombudsmen of Ukraine and Russia, in the absence of diplomatic relations (between the two countries), take concrete actions to help people."

Russia and Ukraine have exchanged hundreds of captives in the course of the war, which is now in its 11th month, Reuters reported.

On Sunday, the two countries swapped 50 captured soldiers each in the latest in a series of such deals, according to officials.

Wednesday is day 322 of Russia's war against Ukraine.
