Entitled “On the Edge of Life,” the showcase featured paintings by Ukrainian artist Julia Angeliuk and war trophies captured by Ukrainian troops from the invading Russian army, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
The exhibition was held between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at 12 Bagatela Street, where the Polish government has organised co-working space for Ukrainian companies active in Poland, according to officials.
Tatiana Holiuk from the charity Sun for Ukraine, which organised the fundraiser, said that it featured authentic pieces of military equipment taken from the Kremlin’s invading forces.
She added that the trophies included “a burnt rifle captured from a Russian soldier near the eastern town of Izyum and … the helmet of a tank commander.”

The showcase also comprised Angeliuk’s folk-style paintings, Sun for Ukraine said.
All the exhibits were for sale to help raise funds for night-vision devices for Ukraine’s frontline troops, the IAR news agency reported.
The audience was also invited to donate for the cause, officials said.
Sun for Ukraine’s Damian Politański said: “We’ve been holding fundraisers practically since the beginning of the war. We buy thermal cameras, drones, and first-aid kits. We are in contact with specific army units and buy exactly what the troops need at any given time.”

On May 10 and 11, the “On the Edge of Life” exhibition was held at the Potocki Palace in Poland’s historic southern city of Kraków, according to news outlets.
Sun for Ukraine plans to bring similar events to more Polish cities, the IAR news agency reported.
Details can be found on the charity’s social media, including Facebook and Instagram.
Tuesday was day 447 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
