Earlier, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported that, following Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory, both Polish and allied aircraft were operating in Polish airspace.

According to the command, the Chief of the Operational Command activated all necessary forces and assets under his control.

“Readiness fighter jets and an airborne early warning aircraft were scrambled, while ground-based air defence and radar reconnaissance systems reached the highest state of alert,” the statement said.

Authorities stressed that these measures are precautionary, aimed at securing Polish airspace, particularly near threatened areas.

The Operational Command said it is continuously monitoring the situation, with all subordinate forces remaining on standby for immediate response.
