"On the night of July 22-23, Russian troops launched yet another massive attack on the territory of Odesa city and the region. As of 04:00, it was established that one person was killed and 22 people, including four children, were injured as a result of the enemy shelling of the city of Odesa," the National Police of Ukraine posted on Telegram.

Odesa was attacked by 19 missiles of different classes, with nine being shot down, according to a statement from the Ukraine Air Force.

Oleh Kiper, the governor of southern Ukraine's Odesa region, referred to the incident as "another night attack of the monsters" on the Telegram messaging application.

A total of 14 people were hospitalized due to the missile strikes, which also destroyed six houses and apartment buildings.

The attack also caused significant damage to a Russian-linked Orthodox cathedral.

Over the past week, Russia has been relentlessly targeting Odesa and other Ukrainian food export facilities following its withdrawal from a UN-brokered sea corridor agreement that had previously allowed for the safe shipment of Ukrainian grain.
